The backlog of cases being processed by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services(USCIS) have dragged to more than one(1) year and in some cases getting to two(2) years. And “nothing is being done” as it appears to reduce these backlogs.
From the processing time charts of the various DHS field offices that have not been updated for the past four (4) months, to the last case completed dating back more than eight (8) months. Checkout the USCIS charts to see the backlog of petitions rotting away at various DHS field offices, service centers and the National Benefits Center.
Most government agencies like: United States Department of Education, United States Department of Energy, United States Department of Health and Human Services, United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, United States Department of Justice, United States Department of Labor – just to name but a few apply the 3 months to 6 months maximum processing times in almost all their adjudications or processing. Why should that of United States Department of Homeland Security (USCIS) with all its field offices be different? Especially: Texas field offices, Oklahoma City field office, Baltimore field office, Chicago field office, NBC etc.
It is troubling, frustrating and incomprehensible for those involved and their family members. Something has to be done by the everyone involved and reading this by writing your representatives, joining and following immigration groups and sending a message to the politicians bidding for your votes in the coming elections, asking for total review of the number of immigration agents handling cases (knowing the number of cases each agent or field office completes per month), knowing your rights to request to have your cases updated/ expedited without leading to negative consequences. Have your attorneys do the jobs you paid them to do for you because as it stands your attorney, if you have one is the best advocate you have as regards know the accurate status of your petitions.
Wish you well and keep the movement alive.
